13. Processed Meats
Processed meats include sausage, salami, bacon, ham, smoked meat, dried meat, and canned meat. Processed meats have many chemicals that are responsible for maintaining the color of meats, improving their flavor, and preventing the growth of bacteria. All these chemicals are detrimental to the health as they can increase the risk of developing high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic lung disease, bowel and stomach cancer. Therefore, you should limit the intake of processed meats, as well as other processed foods to stay healthier.
